An epic guitar sound or a skateboard that flows really comes down to the wood parts vibing perfectly together—it's all about total harmony. Here at Johwa, that's our goal. We want our stuff to have the right feel for builds that are fun to play or ride.

We're a boutique shop with a super simple process. You can purchase existing inventory, although most of our stuff is built to order, so you can customize the shapes, sizes, woods, and looks. It's all up to you.

Regardless of what you pick, we hand-make every single item with a lot of care. This gives it that real, authentic feel you just can't get from a huge factory production line. And the best part? It's all at a friendly price point.

Our Process

At Johwa Boards, we like the wood itself to be the artistic hero.  So we go out and source interesting veneers to apply to the tops and bottoms of our 7-play maples rides giving them a one of kind look and great performance.  

Johwa boards are also built to order.  When we get your order, we fly into action gluing, cutting, shaping, and spraying finish.  Since we're humans using eco-friendly materials, each of these steps takes some time which means it will likely take up to a month to get your board, but it will be well work the wait!  

Since we're a small shop that builds by hand, we roll out our new boards in periodic design drops based on the woods we're able to source.  That way you know you're getting a limited quantity deck that's built with love by a human and not some machine in a factory far far away.

We use rock maple from FSC Certified suppliers and source veneers that can be up to 25 years old or more.  We also look to reuse our maple by-product on guitars.  That's right, we also build guitars which you can check out at Johwaguitars.com.
